Relaxed Iran Sanctions Could Benefit Oil Shippers

Last week in Geneva, a deal was struck between Iran and six world powers, including the U.S. and the European Union, to relax global trade restrictions on cars, petrochemicals, aviation parts, gold, and insurance for oil cargoes. Additionally, Iran will be permitted to continue exporting oil at current levels instead of forcing further reductions.

Amber Road Opens EMEA Headquarters in Munich

  
  
  

Amber Road announced this week that it has opened an office in Munich, Germany to serve as its EMEA headquarters. Beginning with one sales executive in Scandinavia in 2009, Amber Road has quickly grown its European customer base to include companies such as ABB, Drägerwerke, Lantiq, Metso, Siemens and Talis, to name a few.

At a recent seminar, Financial Returns of Global Trade, hosted by Amber Road and Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services, Inc., Marianne Rowden, President and CEO of the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI), spoke on many of the recent U.S. legislative and regulatory updates. She covered topics including the Customs Re-authorization Bill, Simplified Entry, the effects of sequestration, the Export Control Reform Initiative, the status of mutual recognition agreements, and the Food Safety Modernization Act.
