CBP to Provide Training on North America Free Trade Agreement in North Dakota

Pembina, N.D. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection wishes to inform the trade community that CBP will be providing North America Free Trade Agreement training at the Pembina Community Center on September 16.

This training is being provided to help the international trade community better understand the necessary requirements for claiming NAFTA on merchandise entering the United States. The NAFTA training is for brokers, filers, importers, exporters and manufactures. The training will cover completion of the NAFTA certificate of origin, NAFTA qualifying operations, tariff shift, regional value content, and record keeping requirements.

Those individuals interested in attending the free training are requested to contact Import Specialist Kristina Nelson at (701) 825-6201 ext. 232 or send an email to kristina.nelson@dhs.gov by Friday, September 4. The training will be from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Pembina Community Center is located in the town of Pembina at 112 Rolette Street.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
