Last month, Amber Road broadcasted part one of our three-part Export Compliance Webinar Series, which focused on Restricted Party Screening. Our presenters, Scott Lewis and Scott Parker (both of Amber Road), got a lot of questions at the end of the webinar. Here are a few of their responses:
What are the benefits of dynamic rescreening versus transactional screening?
- Scott Lewis: The only difference between dynamic and transactional screening is that dynamic screening continually screens all of your trading partners daily. This helps our customers see potential issues before they affect shipments.
What is the process to perform a batch search?
- Scott Parker: Within Export-On-Demand there is a simple CSV template that users can download and propagate with the trade partners they wish to screen. Once the spreadsheet is populated, users can simply upload the file into the system to prompt a batch screening. After the batch screening is completed, there is an email notification that will alert the user with the result of that screening (how many entities were processed, how many potential matches were found, if there were any errors in the file, etc.). Any potential matches that were found would be stored within the appropriate work queue within the system for review.
How can you, as an employee who is responsible for processing orders and documents for export, protect yourself from legal action when your employer dismisses the need for and refuses to implement restricted party screening?
- Scott Lewis: In this case, you should document everything. This should include communications where you were denied a screening solution, as well as any manual screening you are doing.
