Amber Road would like to thank all of those who attended American Shipper’s Bridging the Gap Between Existing Compliance Automation and True GTM Platforms webinar. The attendees asked some great questions, but unfortunately, we ran out of time and were unable to answer all of them. The presenters were kind enough to provide us with written responses to those questions. Here are a few:
- What are the hard and soft benefits that can be developed to meet the internal hurdle rate for investment? The two key benefits from a GTM system are efficiency and accuracy. The efficiency that you gain from GTM will enable you to reduce costs, decrease cycle time and process more volume without increasing personnel. The accuracy will enable you to reduce audits, eliminate penalties and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Does GTM software help manage EAR and ITAR determinations? Each GTM vendor offers different capabilities. Most offer functionality to support both the EAR and ITAR regulations. Amber Road provides solutions for both of those regimes as well as similar dual use and military regimes for other countries.
- Can you speak to the high cost that GTM providers charge potential customers? Many times this is a 'show-stopper' for importers. Many GTM vendors offer solutions at different price points. Amber Road provides a software subscription model which tends to spread the costs out over time vs. having to buy a more expensive license up front. We think this subscription model better matches the costs to the value over time.
- Is 'module-by-module' implementation of GTM a viable method for companies, or is it best to plunge 'all-in' with a total implementation of a GTM? Each company would need to make their own assessment of the project rollout strategy that best suits their needs. Most companies opt for a module by module approach; but sometimes the all-in approach is appropriate. It all depends on business goals and overall company strategy.
